Before the energy audit is started, QWTOOL is configured with tasks related to building data and HVAC* systems so that each building gets a unique setup. This work only needs to be done once. After that, the building can be energy audited any number of times during both winter and summer seasons.

Temperature instruments such as IR thermometers with wire sensors will need to be used when temperatures in rooms, ventilation systems, and pipes are to be checked.

The energy audit is scheduled at times when a meteorologically stable winter or summer period prevails.
The property's technical systems differ in their operating conditions depending on whether there is a winter or summer climate outside.
To ensure that the technical systems work energy-efficiently throughout the year, energy audits need to be performed during both the winter and summer seasons.
